What is sex addiction?
Any sexually related compulsive behavior that is causing life altering consequences for the person engaging in the behavior and the person is unable to stop the behavior. Examples are prolonged use of internet activity related to sexual behavior ie. Looking at Internet pornography and masturbating, using social networking sites to meet partners explicitly for sex. Other behaviors include frequently visiting massage parlors and strip clubs with the intent of having a sexual experience including but not limited to having an orgasm. Multiple affairs or the use of escorts and prostitutes are just some common examples of compulsive and addictive sexual behavior.

How common is sex addiction?
It is estimated that 6 to 8 cent of the population is struggling with this addiction according to the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health. It has also been estimated that 10 per cent of the population struggles with some type of an addiction (Drugs, alcohol, food, gambling, etc.)
Is sex addiction treatable?
Absolutely!!!!
